Window trim is a great finishing touch to the inside or outside of a window. For this example, we'll look at the cost of putting 15 linear feet of wood trim around an interior window, which averages $100-$175. This project is possible for more advanced DIY-ers, but hiring a professional is recommended.

  • Materials:
    • Wood window trim costs $0.75-$1.25 per linear foot.
    • Durable PVC trim runs around $2 per linear foot
    • Aluminum trim averages $1.50-$2 per linear foot.
Trim that is thicker or more decorative tends to cost more and can easily reach $5-$6 per linear foot.
Add another $10-$20 per window for other materials, such as nails and caulk.
  • Labor: carpenters average $70 per hour and typically require one to two hours per window, for a total cost of $70-$140.
